Looking at getting some new sights for my AR. I've been looking at the magpul MBUS and the ARMS 71L's. Both are polymer and are comparable price wise. Any opinions?

They are both fine buis. you should be fine either way. The gen 1 mbus's can be found really cheap on arf

I have had a gen 1 Magpul rear MBUS on my patrol rifle for a couple years now and have not had any issues. It has been banged around and used as a primary rear sight until a couple weeks ago when I finally got my red dot. The gen 2 version is supposed to be a little more streamlined and takes up less space. Magpul makes great stuff.

I don't have any experience with the other sight you mentioned.

    Good luck and get shooting!

Yeah, I think I'm going with the magpuls. Everybody says they're pretty tough. I appreciate the feedback guys.

I hate both of the options you posted.

I use them at work, and have had them on my personal kit.

I just do not like the rear of both sights, fronts I can live with.

I would just buy fixed front and rears. To me, if I need a BUIS, and I have the deploy them up, then its to late to do so. I like thme to always be up. Even the flippies.

I ended up buying the magpuls in Raleigh this weekend and after mounting them on my rifle, I've been thinking the same thing. However, deployed, they cowitness with my CompM2 and I dont really like it. I might just change out my mount for a lower 1/3 and see if I like that better. This is the first time I've had optics on my rifle so I'm still trying to figure it.

But other than the rear aperture, I like the magpul sights. Theyre light and not too bulky.
