It that is the number check it here... http://www.ithacagun.com/pdfs/serialnumbers.pdf
Shows it to be a 1939. So I guess I'm GTG with 2 3/4" shells.
That's what I thought when I checked it out. Better for you to read it and say it though than me!
Remington 870 Police Magnum with Magpul stock and fore-grip. Tritium night sight. Awesome Cera-kote by our very own ARguy:
1980's 870 magnum wingmaster, 20" rifle-sight barrel, +3 tube extension, and gorgeous walnut wood. Just the way I like it!
Nice looking shotgun right there!
870 Police Magnum 20" Imp Cyl choke.
Winchester Model 97 Take Down.
Mossberg 590a1 with speed feed stock, 6shell side saddle, +1 mag extension (7+1) 18.5 inch barrel.
A=12 gauge T=Tactical P=Police
To join in with the Mossberg theme, here is my 590.
Plain old Moss 500. Added a tritium front sight to replace the bead, and a 20" vent ribbed barrel with Modified choke. Patterns 00 buck just right.
Left: NEF 24" 12 gauge 3.5" Chamber fixed full choke.
Right: Remington 870 youth 20 gauge 18.5" Rem Choke.
Left: Remington 870 Express 20" rifle sight Rem Choke +3 Remington extension. 7+1. Tac star side saddle, Insight light mount. Speed feed II stocks.
Right: Remington 870 Police 20" fixed IC. +3 Remington extension 7+1. Remington Military light rail. Streamlight TLR1. Speed feed I stocks +4. Tac star 6 shot sidesaddle.
Have 28" barrels for both of these as well.
Remington 1187 Special Purpose. 28" Remchoke. Have 21" rifle sight Remchoke barrel as well.
Remington 1100 Competition Master 22# Rem choke. +4 Factory extension for 8+1 capacity. 6 round side saddle. 5 round butt cuff. 19+1 of 12 gauge goodness on board to repel boarders.
Last but not least a Remington Model 31 12 gauge. 2+1 fixed IC choke. Inherited from my grandfather.
Damn tapatalk sideways pics........
My primary target gun and backup...
Just got this back from the guys at Spainhour Gun and Pawn. They did a great job and are super friendly. Go check them out! There on Main Street in Gibsonville.
Here are the two of mine that I love. The first is a Savage 720 16 gauge that all I can find out about manufacture dates is that it is most likely pre-WWII. It shot like a sweetheart for me on the skeet range. The second is a Steven's Arm and Tool Co. 12 gauge Model 335. The most I can figure out about its birthday is that it is most likely between 1912-1915. It is pretty serial number. I have not shot it.
Dang it! Every picture came out upside down.
The Benelli, love this thing to death put 2000 shells through it in a month, it was an early christmas present to myself
I finally picked up my very first shotgun and here soon I will be getting an 18.5in barrel for it so it can double as a home defense shotgun. I know I could have gone with a different model with more features but for my first I just wanted a good basic shotgun. I'm hoping to get out to a good shotgun range this week as well to give it go. I've never really done any kind of trap or skeet shooting so any suggestions on a good place to check out for a newbie would be appreciated.
Where are you located?
I live near Garner, NC.
I got nothing over there but download "where to shoot " on the app store and it'll tell you everything in your area. Hope this helps
Thanks. I am currently a member of Frontline Defense. But he doesn't have a area for trap or skeet shooting yet. Mainly I just want a good place to get some experience behind a shotgun as I've only fired one a couple of times. Always been more of a rifle and handgun person.
Was cleaning out the safe today and took a few Pictures. Here are a few of ours. Nothing really high end. Browning, Remington and SKB. The bottom 4 are my wife's
Maverick 88 12 gauge
Mossberg 7 3/4 forearm slide tube
18.5 breach barrel
Rebuilt my 24" turkey gun into something more fun using parts from other builds:
Mossberg Maverck88, stock 18" barrel, cut down pump handle, $10 clamp-on rail adapter, velcro card shell holder, Sparc 2/light/sling off a AR I never use, single point sling adapter, krylon green.
Some day I'll get somewhere I can zero that optic with slugs... hopefully it matches up to where the 00 lands!
Two issues I've found so far though:
1. Removing the optic but leaving the rail on blocks the bead sight so if I want to go back to turkey config with the other barrel I'll have to figure something out to sight it or removed the lock tighted rail (not looking forward to that).
2. With the rail on the rifled slug barrel with the scope mount doesn't fit. No idea why I have that barrel other than it was cheap.
