So I was searching the internet a few days ago and saw one of these went at auction for over 2k. Then I searched on gunbroker and saw they all go for that much...

So for those into gen 3 smith semi autos..what is the big deal here? I see they are performance center models but other than that what is up?

That is the same one I found...but with it being the Smith forum I didn't want to buy into what those already in love with smiths had to say.

From that forum it seems it was just a low number production and cost a carpload to start with and has increased in price since then.

That's usually all it takes when Smith collectors get involved. :D

A lot of Smith collectors seem to want one so that will drive up the price.

Sounds like a pretty unique gun in general with the features.

Ok so I put it on layaway. After I took a look at it I was able to get a serial number and confirmed it had the correct case with it.

Now to see what I can find out over at the Smith forum and see if there is enough interest to list it sooner or later.

This one is destined for another...way too many bills to justify keeping it for myself unfortunately.

That sucks man, but I understand that life happens. Those 845's are supposed to be fantastic shooters; on par with the S&W PC 952's
