FYI........the Hodgdon/IMR/Winchester reloading data center web site http://www.hodgdon.com/index.html now lists reloading data for several calibers of Berry's plated bullets. The abbreviation for Berry's Bullets on their site is BERB.

Up until now, about the only printed guidance on powder charges for plated bullets was "use data for lead bullets".

Is the load data different for Berrys plated bullets vs other plated bullets? I just figure that a 124gr plated bullet would have the same load data no matter the manufacturer. Is this not the case?

That's a good question. Up until now, I've only used Rainier plated bullets. Last week, Cabelas online had a good supply of .40 caliber Berry's so I ordered a couple of boxes. Like I did with the Rainier bullets, I'm going to start working up a load for the Berry's in small batches of low loads (like ~4.7 grains of W231) and work upward using my chronograph, noting cycling of all three of my .40 S&W pistols, watching for signs of pressure, etc.

Ok. I gotcha. The reason I asked is I have been loading Berrys 124grn plated round nose. 4.5 grns unique yields 950 to 1000 fps. It's a light load but cycles all my 9mms just fine. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't doing something wrong.
