We are instituting a new policy of community self policing of the classifieds. Y'all can handle it, just be grown ups and be respectful - if you are bashing (or generally not being respectful) to another member you will lose access to the classifieds.
*************************

This forum is not responsible for its members adherence to the laws. However, any illegal item posted will result in the poster being banned permanently and the ad being deleted.

24 hour bump rule will be enforced.

Posting an ad:

1. Full accurate description of the item for sale. Including a PRICE or Trades you are looking for. A trade value is highly recommended and will help your fellow members. No "feeler" ads or items listed for offers. Use the Appraisals section to find out values of your item.
**DO NOT post a link to armslist, craigslist, gunbroker, etc... If you want to use our site to sell, take the time to make an ad based on the rules**

2. Profile must be filled out with your location (at the very least the county you are in) or post the location in your ad.

3. Twenty Four (24) hour bump rule.

4. Ads posted for third parties or non-members.
**If a forum member posts an ad to sell or trade an item for another person or a non-member of CSC, they must be willing to take full responsibility for the deal. Good or bad deal, the poster of the ad is responsible. This includes receiving the negative feedback if the deal goes bad. Think it through if you plan to post an ad for someone else. You post it......you own it.**

5. If you are the seller, and you agree to meet a buyer at a specific time/ place (or if you agree to ship) and prices have been agreed upon, you have now committed to a deal. This is not the time to try and negotiate a better meeting location or time with another buyer.

Closing an ad:
- You can now simply select the Thread Tools -> Mark as Sold - in the drop down.

This will mark your item as Sold and CLOSE the thread automatically. Only the person who starts the thread has the option to Mark as Sold.

#2 should simply be a requirement for being on the forum not just classifieds. You don't have to give your address but the county you live in would be nice.

2nd the motion
Oppose the motion. :sp

If they aren't posting in the Classifieds, why should the forum make location mandatory? Kind of pointless, no? If someone objects to that, they'll just make up a location. So what has it achieved? It's like forums asking for birthdates. I *always* give fake dates, as I'm sure most people here do.

They're only trying this for a week. My guess is it will change back then.

Did y'all even read the paragraph at the top with all the asterisks above and below it?
"We are instituting a new policy of community self policing of the classifieds. Y'all can handle it, just be grown ups and be respectful - if you are bashing (or generally not being respectful) to another member you will lose access to the classifieds."

That's about as clear as mud. So we can comment in other people's threads for items we're not interested in? Make trade offers and below-asking-price bids in BST threads?

Bingo. Enjoy...
Oh man. MuShu is gonna have so much fun, the guy may just die from laughter.

So will we get warnings for crossing the line? Or will the banhammer strike without warning?

Hope you guys saved up some data on # of BST posts in recent weeks. Will be interesting to see if this encourages/discourages/has no effect on sellers.

It is slower and not as crazy as it was last year. We are not enforcing the 48 hour bump, we are asking to observe a 24 hour bump rule, which will be up to the members to sort of maintain. This is self policing in the bst. Use your head, enjoy freedom, but don't get carried away. I have an idea this can work on a mature 2a forum.
