It was all fun and games until the grips were changed. Probably still worth a mint to the right person. The 8" is probably not as marketable as the 6", but you still will be ok. Whatcha want for it?

What are the correct grips for this model? If you went an purchased a set would it raise the desirability/selling price enough to make it worth doing?

Just a question, since there are a variety of them available on GunBroker.

I'm not sure if the grips were wood or rubber, but for sure they had colt on them. I think it might increase the value. I'm pretty sure the scope does little to nothing for the price.

i made a trade on it today and i was told its worth around $1500. i got it from a friend not a random person so i figured the number should be pretty accurate. i would really like more info on the piece. like year and more info on the series "LA", also i am not really sure if i am going to sell it or sit on it for a while. maybe i should hunt down the factory grip.

i was made a nice offer on it already by a member. its not in the B/S/T because i might keep it.

I doubt with non-factory grips you'd command $1500, but it is worth a try. 8" is not as popular as 6". I'd have put the value at $1000-1100, but I am not an expert.

I was heading toward offering $800 so I'm out unless you get desperate.

This is my 6". I was under the impression it was worth about $1200. Is that pretty accurate?

The Python is by far the smoothest shooting handgun I have, or probably ever will own. Even double action, it's light and smooth all the way back. If you are into collecting and have a grand or so to spend, I'd recommend one.
