any sugestions to lighten this thing up? I just built it and while its sweet its not as light as I want it to be.....should i ditch the troy mrf rail? Should I have gona for a 10.5"?

Barrel is a deniel defense 11.5" with a troy mrf 10" mrf rail and yankee hill phantom, dti upper and lower with a dti bcg(gona buy a bcm later) spikes pistol tube with pistol buffer and spring.

Going to a 7'' rail will lighten it up a few ounces to half a pound depending on what rail you get.
That will be about the best that you will be able to do.

The 11" Troy alpha rail is what I run on my 11.5 and I love it.

I only run a laser/light on my 10.5" pistol....LOL! It's a nearly useless toy to me, but I keep it around. I was able to spray the crap out of a life size torso at 35 yards a few weeks ago in daylight from the hip (laser off).

That handguard is a pig. Swap it out for a MI Gen 2, Noveske NSR, or Troy TRX(Alpha).
