I can’t think of a more relevant forum for this topic. I have been working non stop so no shooting for a long time. I stopped going into stores like Cabelas, MalWart and Academy looking for target 12 ga shells as it was clear it was a waste of time. Cabelas actually stopped reserving shelf space for non existent Ammo.

A fren told me he has seen cases (flats) of it now on occasion. Has anyone else? I hate going in there and being laughed at. I’m a handloader, but I don’t make 12ga.

My brother said they had it at academy in hickory. $6.99 a box, limit of 10.

I bought a Maverick 20" with full length magazine a couple weeks ago at Academy in Burlington and the ONLY shells they had were slugs. While I was there a guy came up and asked about 12ga shells and the guy told him they had some but the dove hunters wiped them out.

I buy a case about every time I'm in Walmart. 9 out of 10 times they have several on the shelf.

    Denver and hickory both

Cabela's didn't even have the staff to answer the phone in the hunting section and Academy confirmed they have seen about zero birdshot. Only buckshot.

Walmart doesn't sell cases, you may be finding 100pks but not cases.

Some of them used to right before dove season. They were always Remington dove loads, 10 boxes to a case, but I haven't seen them the last 2 years.

Welp, Cabelas just got in 4 cases and has a 5 box limit. At least thats enough for one match. Almost. Hey wife, im buying lunch!

Price was the same as can be had online after shipping. Dude told me it was $9 a box.

    Off by $2.

$11 a box is pretty steep, but they had some at least!
    $0.44 a round

Dunham’s in Burlington had a whole shelf load of Estate buckshot load 25 shell boxes with no limit last Sunday. Price was $37.99. I’m not familiar with the brand so I only bought 4 boxes.

The last time I was at Dunhams in Hendersonville, they had 7.5 shot game/target loads for $10.99 per box. That's exactly double what I last paid for shells about three years ago, but at least there were some on the shelf for the first time in over a year.

Hoping both price and availability improve soon. I hate to use up my remaining inventory and have to replace it at $10+ per box.

Was back in Dunhams today. Still very little ammo on the shelves. No single boxes of shotgun shells for target or small game shooting. They did have 10-box flats of Remington 8 shot game loads for $99.99, equal to $10.00 a box. Still too expensive for me, so I didn't buy any.

Hit and miss but can be found. Walmart had some bulk packs the other week and other stores it can be found but not like it used to be by just walking in any given time and buying what you need. Finding any ammo you may want or need will take some work and some luck. Who knows when it will be back to "normal". I am in pretty good shape just by being prepared for such supply problems. Keep an eye out on here and other local forums. I have been lucky and found some decent deals from the folks on forums or just post up a WTB and see what happens.
