Carbine/Pistol Level 3, Testing your skill-set

Intent of the course:
This course is a pass / fail skill testing event on manipulation of the carbine / pistol under time and peer pressure. Each student is ranked beside fellow students in a running total of pass / fail and points given per test. If you pass a test you will move on the leaders board, if you fail a single test your name will stop on the leaders board, but you will continue to train and shoot the rest of the events. The level 3 course will not be a "burn down the house" type carbine shooting event. Each aspect being tested will be simple tests with realistic timelines.

Sign up: Trace Armory Group
DATE: 19 July 2014 8am - 2pm
Location: Durham Pistol and Rifle Club (range 3)
Cost: $80 per-person.
Student Headcount: Limited to the first 14 paid students
Firearm Instructors: Contact me for 1/2 off. This is not a call out, but a way for you to enjoy the day and see how you perform.

Description:
This course is a total of 8-10 tests spanning no more than 6 hours testing of your skills to operate a Carbine and transition to Semi-Auto Pistol. Any (semi auto) Modern Sporting Rifle that is gas operated is welcome to attend. Each test will be a blind test (you will not know the event until the time to take it), each event will include some type of use of cover, transition to pistol, shooting position around, under, over cover / concealment, shots no greater then 100yds, no shorter than 1foot.

Equipment needed:
  • Semi Auto Modern Sporting Rifle and Pistol
  • A sling for the rifle, a strong side holster for the pistol
  • 250rounds rifle 250rnds pistol
  • 3 magazines for each firearm / with proper gear to support the magazines
  • Knee / elbow pads, and proper clothing for the weather, closed toe shoes, billed hat and sun block
  • At least ½ gallon of water or a 12 pack of bottled water
  • Shooting gloves (are nice to have but not needed)
  • All personal protection equipment (ears, eyes)
  • Any equipment you feel you need to support your success during testing.

So the question is: Can you attend? You tell me, are you ready to see if all your training has paid off and you are ready to be tested?

for the non-weekend group.

This test / class will be a BLAST for all you guys that have paid for training, now is a way to see if that investment paid off.

Some of the best learning events I ever had are blind events, this is how you see if your abilities are up to standard or not.

Are there any prerequisites or can someone who "feels" confident in their abilites depsite no formal/official training attend?
No prerequisite's needed but 2.

1. Are you a safe shooter?
2. If you get over your skill can you stop yourself and make the safe call?

If you answer yes to both. I would love to have you.

I had to cancel the course. We had a miss communication at DPRC and I was not slotted a range.

We will look at doing this again soon
