Ok looking for some advice and help on a Remington 1903a3 I have the option to buy from a friend.
I really don't know much about 1903's at all but I finally got to look a my buddy's After asking him for about 6 months.
Its a Remington 1903-A3 and it was a really beautiful gun. I was only able to get 1 picture and that was of the barrel shank. The stock was in great shape only a few minor marks & it had 3 cartouches one of which was a "p" on the bottom of the wrist. I believe the other 2 were a "boxed FJA" and then a nother on that I can't really recall (i will be posting pics of the stock marks from stock photos online.
The other things I new to look for was the barrel which was a RA with a U.S. flaming ball stamp & with I believe a 5-43 which means 1943? Also looked at the receiver serial # on line and found that to be made in 1943. The only other thing I can note is that the front sight had a U.S flaming ball stamp. Also the bore looked excellent and I would say gauge very low on muzzle and throat erosion.
Sorry this may not be the best description, but im just wondering how much this gun would be valued around
As he's asking $800 and ive seen these go form $500-2,000+.
Also does this sound original to you? Or more of a rebuild
All input appreciated.
Thanks Cam~
