Been wanting a 308 ar for awhile now and found a Bushmaster moe in the price range I was looking . Anybody here have any hands on with one.
Sure I would love a BPM or Armilite but don't need to break the bank. And I know I could build one but don't have the time for it . And even being a huge Ruger Fan think their 7.62 is priced to high for what your getting. This will be a hunting / home defense rifle so not looking a 1" moa 1000 yard gun either!

myself I listened and watched and looked at what people got for a good bit and decided to go with the dpms in 5.56 and .308 got one of each for wife and myself she loves the 5.56 thinks the .308 is to heavyI broke all 4 in as per what they said a person should and have not had any problems with either of them well I take that back on the .308's both were extremely tight but a good cleaning fixed that fairly easy

How do you like the scope? Which turret are you using?
The scope is a new installation that I have had little experience with yet. I had a Nikon 3x9x40 prostaff on it but my eyes are getting worse so I switched to this for more magnification about a week ago. The scope is very clear and so far I am very happy with it but it's still to early for a final review. I am still using the factory 1/4 inch at 100 yard knobs instead of the caliber specific ones. I hope to take it out this week for some fine tuning of the new scope.

I bought this dpms sass used from a buddy of mine. It is a sub moa gun. I never thought I would like one but I love it. I plan on hunting with it this year and alternating it with my 308 fn spr deerhunting this year.
Those bipod legs look a little wonky. How sturdy is it and what brand?

AR's are nice I suppose, but if you want something you don't have to replace parts on near as often...might look into something a little more classic:
Not to start an AR10 > M1A argument, but there are a few reasons, despite the classical look of an M1A, I'd stick with an AR-10. Accuracy for the money, usually, points to the AR-10 and the manual of arms (mag changes, stoppages, etc) and the "feel" is much similar to those used an shooting an AR-15, as well as maintenance, and not as easy to or quiet when running suppressed

Question: are there differences between .308 rifles and 7.62 rifles? (Like .223 & 5.56?) Can one (7.62) handle higher pressures than the .308?

In AR platforms the simple answer is no. In C&R guns the simple answer is yes. From the gun gurus on the interwebs, commercial .308 is said to have pressures and is considered a hotter load than standard mil-spec 7.62 stuff. So if you have a C&R 7.62x51 it would not be wise to shoot .308 out of it. If you have a .308 shoot all the 7.62x51 out of it you want. That is from what I read on different web sites when I was looking into it.

Dr. Drover....never...I dont bed them, not necessary unless you are competing. I've never seen any platform outshoot another due to the platform itself...it was the shooter...always. Shoot what you like, but the M1A will keep up with the best of them. Oh, if you think M1A is more difficult to keep up than an AR...well, maybe it is, I don't think know, never compared them! I've never purchased a rifle because it was easier to maintain as a reason to purchase it over another or not! But that's just me.
