If it's real, it's STUPID in the extreme!!! Oh yea, that helmet would have been great protection if the guy had shot a little low.

I'm 80% sure it's fake without doing much research into it. I think the guy in the video is a YouTube "celebrity" of sorts that makes his claim on making funny/outrageous videos, including the use of homebrew CGI and/or special effects. Although, this video looks pretty darn real to me. But the stupidity level makes me want to discredit it immediately!

 

Yeah, after watching some other videos, I think I've been had. Those are probably some of the best special effects (sights and sounds both) that I've seen in homemade videos...heck, even some movies.

Yeah, you're probably right for a few extremists. But I think this falls in line with movie guns...people are sort of jaded by the sight/use of them in movies (that's part of the reason they're so "scary" in real life to people). The whole irresponsible stunt factor is in a category of it's own...like how the show JackAss uses things in a manner in which everyone else knows not to...but we don't get mad at Rent-A-John companies when JackAss flings them through the air or whatever.
