Always thought it would be cool to have a 9mm long gun.

Other than an MP5 what is a could 9mm long gun.

Is a AR 9mm conversion just as good as anything you can cheaply buy. By cheaply I mean under a grand(mp5s seem to be going for a couple grand on gunbroker)

I have heard good things about AR style 9mm rifles. Are there any good non AR models in 9mm that I need to know about?

Bought the 40 Hi Point off my uncle for $100.
That's what I want to find... a HP40 for $100 so I can rechamber it for 10mm. The chamber reamer will cost about as much as a new HP, but I won't have much in it, in case it blows up!

I mean, like, who needs 9mm?? :D

This little pig has been dressed up a bit with ATI stock and a custom barrel shroud and I Duracoated the metal parts myself. They are a bit heavy and clunky and are limited to 10 round mag capacity but they work well and at this low price point cannot be beat in the bang for the buck category. I have hurt the feelings of a few Beretta CX Storm owners with this thing.

When I first saw the ad for these I got excited especially for the 357 Sig chambering. Then reality set in, it's a Sig, 99% chance I will never be able to accept the price, and I'd want it to be a SBR on top of it.

OP I'd vote Hi-point, other than the lame capacity and things like the front sight shooting loose, they're pretty great for the price, reliable and the 45 my dad has is surprisingly accurate. I keep meaning to get one myself.

I don't see a price on the JP, but I'm sure it's too high. At $800, the Aero Survival is too high as well.

I'd vote for the Sub2000 or the Hi Point 9. Although that Marlin Camp 9 would get a look too. If you want light weight and high capacity, get the Sub2000. Or look at building an AR 9. Here is a pic of my Hi Point 9:

The KelTec Sub2000 is an interesting looking little guy.

Never shot a KelTec anything. They seem like a really interesting firearm company as they are anyways trying to come from left field to make some either really cool or really odd things. Any opinion on KelTec in general? To me ive always assumed their firearms are more of a thing you show off to people rather than a weapon you can truly rely on. Any KelTec owners want to correct or verify this statement?

I like how the Sub2000 folds up and takes glock mags. Anyone own one or shot more than a mag out of one?

Yes, I suspect several on here have the Sub2000 9. I've been very happy with mine. It is more than just a range toy. It has been highly dependable and very accurate for me. I'm not crazy on Keltec as a company, simply because I had so much trouble getting in touch with them. No response at all to email. Eight phone calls with 45 minute hold times before I finally got somebody. But I have one of their pistols and the Sub2000 and both have been good weapons. No complaints on the guns themselves. But I doubt I'll be buying another of their products. I don't care to deal with a company I can't get in touch with.

TNW Aero Survival Rifle looks cool. There's a few around this area.

I'm liking this, look out wallet... Na probably not.
I have been looking to get a kel tec sub 2K in 40 Glock but every one I've seen for sale are priced more than MSRP. I **** these for the folded size and the hideability factor.

I do have a Beretta CX4 in 40 that is a great shooter.

I've also looked at a Hi Point, almost bought it but talked myself out of it thinking I'd pick up a used one sometime but price a new one ain't too bad at all.

They're so bad about keeping dates and getting a product to market that it's become a common joke in the industry. If you want something in 2015, you'd better go ahead and get the HiPoint. Or a Gen 1 Sub2000. The Gen 1 is a fine weapon. All it needed for me was a rail, extended safety and the Tacticool cheek rest (the Gen 2 will need that last item as well). Course I did add a few more extras.

Will you add an optic? If yes, then I would get a Gen 1 and add the Red Lion rail. That allows you to still keep the folding ability of the gun, and you can flip the optic 90 degrees and not have to remove it. That is the big issue I see with the Gen 2's. Still no way to fold it if you want to run an optic. So you would still have to switch out to the Red Lion rail, or get a QD for your optic and remove it each time you wanted to fold the gun. Now if you plan to run a suppressor, you'd need to wait on the Gen 2, since it comes with a threaded barrel. I haven't measured, but I don't think the Gen 1 barrel is thick enough to be threaded safely.
