Another option for the guys that have issues with the metal clips on the hybird holsters are J-Clips from forum member Alexap. Some guys have issues with the metal clips potential to tear furniture. Well these J-Clips fix the issue in my opinion.

I got a mini-holster from Alexap and added the J-clips as an extra. He makes these J-Clips from thick though Kydex. These slide over the top of your pants, the holster and clips are then secured when you tighten your belt, and the J hook wraps around the bottom of the belt (this keeps the holster in place when drawing the firearm). For an entire day, which included getting up and down and moving in and out of the truck, these clips held the holster in place and it did not slide on the belt. They are a good option to replace the metal clips for you guys that may have a concern with the metal clips.

The prior Alexap holster I had worked great for my Kahr PM9, although it was the same size holster for a Full size Glock or 1911. Well he is now making these mini holsters for sub compacts. It is smaller and less profile, which is just right for my PM9. The weight of firearm is still evenly distributed, it is very comfortable, and it hides the firearm perfect. Firearm retention is just right, the pistol is held snug, and it's still easy to quickly draw. It's made from Horsehide, so it will last. If you have a Ruger LC9, Kahr CM9 / PM9, one of the little 380's, or similar smaller subcompacts, I highly recommend a mini holster over the standard size holster.

This is the Alexap mini holster with his new J-clips on a Fatboy Belt from Forum Member Gunbelt.

You can see the size difference of the Standard vs the Mini Holster in the Pics Below. The leather straps on the Standard size holster where from Forum member Chiefjason, which I also did a review on.

All alexap holsters come with the Metal Clips, you have to ask for the J-Hooks as an extra. If you have any builder's hybird holster, these J-Clips should work on it.

These J-clips are a Great Alternative to the Metal Clips! Yet another choice for you guys from our local Carolina Vendors. Pm Forum member Alexap if you are interested in the clips or a mini holster..

Neil - post these up for sale and I'll buy a set to try. I have two of your holsters and I'm interested in comparing the leather vs kydex as well.

I'm still in the testing phase, I'll do it and let you know when I'm happy with the results. With the way I stand behind my work I'm leary to put something out that I'm not 100% on. Nothing that I sell will ever lessen the chance of someone's survival.

And I will inform how these hold up over the next month, as I wear this holster from the time I get up, until the time I go to bed.

I'm sure they will be great, as the kydex is tough, and there is hardly any weight on the clips, unless your laying on them I wouldn't have a concern. A full day of wearing it lets me know they hold the holster in place great.

Neil is just anal about everything, and he makes sure it is GTG ;)

Neal, I'm happy to beta test a couple for you and also happy to throw a couple $$ your way. If one fails, I got the metal clips to go back to.

I have had zero issues with them. They are simple and have worked.
