Help me out her guys....looks like Mr.Gadget may be the resident expert, but this came from an estate and I think I can score this hardware for cheap (around $150)....what is this gun worth, does pimping one out take away from the price or add to it?....only had one round for it but it operated fine and was actually still zeroed pretty good!

has US PROPERTY stamped in it....but I don't know what too look at....

Can we see a picture of the rear portion of the left side of the receiver, behind where you showed us the Savage markings? Also, does the barrel have the original front sight, or has that been removed?

If its US property, its a No4 Mk.1, Quite possibly made by savage. Its not a collector's piece, but its probably a great shooter. While they do make commercial hunting-style enfields, this one started out military and was turned this way. If you want an investment or a piece of history, walk away. If you want a cool rifle that's unique, pick it up.

Never mind with that request. I've checked the spacing against one I used to have and it isn't correct. Thought there was the off chance you had a sportered Savage sniper. Screw spacing is off, so no need to see if it is drilled and tapped for the rear pad.

The collectors value has been ruined by the modifications. I'm with Wahoo $100-200 depending on bore.
