Use Google maps street view...much easier, can go down the street and 360 degrees. Much better, no download.

I use it almost daily for my business.

To properly use Google Earth, you must set your screen resolution as small as possible. Go into control panel, click change screen resolution. There is a sliding bar that you put your pointer on and move all the way to opposite side. Then click apply. The screen will go dark and then on the next screen that appears, beneath the bar that you slid, you need to click OK. If you don`t, the change won`t take affect. All of your icons will then appear very small. Next double click on the Google Earth icon and have fun. When the page appears, in the top left there will be a blank space where you can type in any known address or location and you will be flown there. In the top right of the page there are controls to rotate the earth in any direction. Turn your mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out.
When you exit Google Earth, go back to Control Panel, click change screen resolution and slide the bar back to the opposite side, click apply. The screen will again become dark and then come on again. Click ok again and your screen resolution will return to normal size. Allow your computer a couple minutes to recover itself after changing back to normal screen resolution. Everything will be fine.
