There's a thread about this on ARFCOM talking about how the PC version is watered-down and is going to be identical to the PS3 version.

Looks like PC version will not have:

Dedicated Servers
Mod Capability
Punkbuster
Different Rule Sets
Hardcore/Softcore differentiation

Its just the same as console versions, and hackers will be handled by Steam's VAC system instead...all this is straight from FourZeroTwo

No punkbuster!? What kinda bull crap is that!? I'm an admin for a Forgotten Hope 2 (Battlefield 2 WWII realism mod, lotsa fun!) server an PB saves us from a LOT of work.....

i'm still getting it, i'm a big fps gamer on pc and have invested almost as much in my pc as i have my guns. i'm currently playing world at war on the old farts server and don't currently have a clan. user name is the same USMCASA.

 

I want it, but don't think my computer will be able to handle it . I don't have any modern came consoles.... Half Life Black mesa is coming soon though

 

I may have a line on a guy with a PS3 for cheap and, if so, I am going to buy it and get this game (among others).

If I have to pay retail for a PS3 then I likely won't get one until they come in around $200 (which would be in about 5 years, I guess).

I think I'm going to skip this one, COD4 has gotten too aggravating for words with all the exploiters.

I never play anything online just for that reason. I'll still get the game though!

 

Ha! You people must play on some bad servers. I've never had any troubles with the PC version when it comes to multiplayer. Lots of servers I play on have VERY strict rules about all that good stuff.

Hardcore mode is where all the REAL players play.

People need to start posting usernames, and what version they're playing (PC, 360, etc.)

Mines "GoldFox" for PC, and "-GoldFox" for World at War (minus the quotes)

 

Yeah I've never had a problem with that on COD4 on the 360. Now WaW I've seen a good bit of cheating. Hardcore is the only way to go!

 

I'm on WAW PS3 as NCshooter26. Hope to get MW 2 shortly after it becomes available.

 

Nothing but hardcore team deathmatch on the 360 here and only last night my team got hammered on Overgrown by a guy in the wall under grandma's house and one in the "hut glitch". Makes crossing half the map very lethal with no chance to hit bCk.

Whats the hut glitch? I know of the wall glitch but not the hut one

The wall glitch is where you can stand by the dirt wall in the riverbed at one place and jump around and it will glitch you inside the wall and its really hard to get killed when your in there.

 

Not any plans for MW 2 right now, but I have Borderlands on pre-order, already on my steam account, just waiting for release.

Seems these companies always bail of the PC gamers...
