Has anyone ever heard or have info on a ar in .30 carbine id like one

Sounds great in theory, but .30 Carbine is expensive, hard to find, anemic, and there's already a great little carbine built for it.

I'd rather have a 9mm AR than .30 Carbine...and I HATE pistol caliber carbines...

.30 carbine is a 110 grain bullet that travels at 1900 FPS, the .9mm is a 115 grain bullet that travels at 1100 FPS. in this respect the carbine is a better choice, the problem is the cost, as stated above also the m-1 carbine rifle is the sh@ for the purpose of slinging .30 lead.

in this line, if wanted an oddball cartridge, first one that I thought of was 38 super. not been around any in many years, but growing up, my grandpa had a colt from the early part of the century chamberd for that. not sure of the balistics, but probably pretty decent, but still would be a little harder to pickup, but used to be very common in pistol matches.

I love my 40 cal carbine Hight Point cheap and shoots out the red at 50 yds

:001_rolleyes:
If you like cheap guns, go for it!

Pistol caliber carbines overpenetrate in 'urban' environments, have horrible ballistics past about 100yds, and aren't that much cheaper to shoot than 5.56, generally speaking.

If you have a rifle-sized tool, might as use rifle-size cartridges. Just my opinion, of course...

PPCs are great HD weapons IMHO. Low noise, low recoil, low flash, high capacity, much easier to hit with and more powerful than pistols. For a "wait for them in the bedroom" gun they're hard to beat IMO.
