I also don't see any reason why someone who has jumped thru the required hoops and has a full fbi background check should be disarmed just to make somebody.....ANYBODY... "feel safer".

But I think the point of this is that if you follow directions and don't act like a dipshit you will most likely not be shot.

I personally:
have my paperwork ready
turn on my interior light
put hands on steering wheel
act respectful

and, usually get let go for whatever infraction I am constantly committing (speeding in a stupid car).

This did not happen when I was young and dumb and had punk rock stickers on my car and an attitude to go with it.

Agreed. I've been let out of a couple tickets that I likely deserved and it was probably because I had my CHP and/or family with me and followed "the rules". If most anyone does, they will at worst get a ticket that ruins their day and be on their way. Of course you may also run into a nut like that SC Trooper who shot the man who was reaching back into his vehicle for the wallet he was told to retrieve. The "rules" may vary depending on who you are and who are dealing with.
Well, I have also been surrounded by cops with guns and pulled out of my drivers side window and plopped onto the hot pavement because my car "matched the description" of a vehicle that was involved in a robbery. And, I didn't get an apology when they found out I wasn't involved.
