Like many on the forum , we cross post to reach our goal. To an extent we are all private individuals and like to keep some semblance of that in the digital world. With the new changes on Armslist, which with all the scamers, I somewhat understand the changes to screen that. The fees are an issue I am wondering what forum members think and the personal fields are another issue that concerns me the most. Specific, name address and bank/CC info. What if anything are the thoughts of others that may use both forms of posting items?

I don’t think it will cut down much on the scammers. I already see fake adds. If you think this works look at Craigslist auto sales. They are a pay to play site now for cars. I see no need to pay to have scammers email me:)

I see no reason for the bank/CC info. What's going to happen when their database is hacked and that info gets out?? No thanks....

My thought exactly. I just hate they have blocked non-paying viewers from responding to ads also. Looks to me like there will shortly be a new kid on the block to fill the newly created gap.

I hope so! Regardless of their reasoning, Armslist instantly lost their base! Gunbroker and Auction Arms they are not!

I found a small work around and there’s just as many scammers as before.

A friend joined with a new email address and a gift card. Used a fake address, said a neighbor wouldn't mind.

    It’s annoying. It sucks.

Put your phone number in the ad and whether you prefer a call or text. Spelling out a few numbers might prevent bots that scour the web looking for numbers formatted like a phone number but people like me who refuse to pay can contact you.

Yah that’s a good idea as a seller. But as a buyer you can’t even contact the seller anymore.
Hopefully they change it. Wonder how traffic is doing

When their ad money goes down, if it does, they will reconsider.
