I was pulling up to the atm and like most you have to drive around to back of bank as I pulled around back I noticed two females one sitting the other standing. Thought it was weird two girls at the back of a bank and it being night. So I proceeded with cautions and my 27 (glock fans). As I put my card in the machine the two girls started fighting one was on top of the other. Finished my transaction and as I drove off I thought about going to ask if everything was ok, but decided to keep going.

Reason for thread after thinking and talking to co workers I think that was a set up to draw me over there what is your opinion?

It was in clemmons nc at allegacy credit union

Wow right down the road from me. Sounds like a diversion, but could just be two dumb broads slapping around each other. I habe heard of people setting up distractions at ATM's to distract individuals and cause a break in situation awareness.

There was a set up similar to that outside the main gate of Fort Jackson at a large strip mall shopping area. A "husband and wife" would get into an physical altercation around an AIT private, being a newly minted Private America, he'd step in and get his ass knocked out and robbed.

That's one of a few scams people have tried on the BCT/AIT privates here. Another was "Hey, my car broke down, can I get $10 from the ATM for a cab ride?" and once the kid entered his PIN, he'd get over powered and his account drained for the max withdrawal limit.

Sounds like you were in the right place at the wrong time.
Yep, gun or no gun I would have kept moving.
Also would have reported it.
I bet it was a set up and others were there to take your money or car...
You are lucky you got away.

They were pretty young early twenties maybe one a little on the heavy the other skinny with a hood on her head, reminds me of the zimmerman deal and I can see how the hood does come into play when you already feel like something is not right in a situation.

Not trying to open that back up. Just stating my thoughts

Well you did the right thing however you look at it. Thank God you made it home, and thank God you have the right to carry a gun to protect yourself if the need should arise. I'm just glad it went the way it did and you weren't hurt and didn't have to hurt anyone in the process. :)

As was said, you did the right thing. I used to work in Chicago a few weeks every year, and there are some criminals on the subways and airports that work in pairs. One distracts you while his accomplice does the dirty work. Happens often around the airport scanners with pickpockets at work.

I didn't call the police because the girl on top was not really hurting the other girl just doing a lot of yelling from what I could see and I wasn't for sure if it was a set up or not probably should have called but I was thinking should I help or not

IMO probaly should have called if for no other reason than a marked unit riding through would get them gone and maybe save somebody else. I am always real leery at the ATM and try to use the ones I can pull up to and always check the thing to see if has a bogus scanner that captures your card data for use at a later time by some POS.
