I hate beer and haven't had liquor since 12/31/2001. If I made that mistake I'd ether be really messed up or just really pissed it wasn't good.
I love Good Root Beer. Hanks Philadelphia root beer is just about the best I've tasted.

I tried that Not Your Father's Root Beer down at Wrightsville Beach back in October. It tasted like root beer at first, then it had a bad aftertaste. Definitely not for me. I'll stick with traditional beer.

It is OK. Root beer with alcohol....I can take it or leave it.

I've tried to drink root beer a couple of times and hate that sickeningly sweet taste. Dr. Pepper is about as close as I can get, altho I quit drinking sodas about 7 years ago.

 

Well when Trudi was here she got hooked on root beer of all things.
They don't have soda like we have. I sicced her on MtDew....every flavor....even Throwback. She came away thinking it was all too sweet. Then we go to 5 guys and I get vanilla root beer, on a whim really. She loves it, can't get enough. To top it all I ask her why the cloying taste of root beer don't bother her, she says MtDew is sweeter. I don't believe it.....

 

Before my Father passed in 2003 we used to share a glass of Vat69. He started drinking it in WWII when he was with the USMC as a corpsman.

I still have a shot or two on his birthday.

 

I love root beer, particularly Barqs. Haven't tried Hanks but hear it's great.

My fiancé only likes fruity beers and Not Your Fathers Root Beer so I tried one and it's ok. I could drink it info had to but would take normal root beer over it any day.

Pretty funny that you made this 'mistake' since they're usually like 6+ aisles away from each other in the super market. Haha

 

Tried some last weekend on our hunting trip, thought it was great.

 

I love NYFRB. I've been on a kick lately since the local stores starting carrying it. I love regular root beer too. So sweet and makes burp funny.

 

They sell this stuff locally called Coney Island Hard Rootbeer... I was skeptical but after having a few, the stuff is great. I swear that is the best tasting Root Beer I have ever had, even better than the hand made draft ones.

 

Coney island is another not your father knock off. It is made up north, Sam adams makes it but didn't want to put thier name on it because it is no where near as good as not your fathers so they used a brewery they own to produce it. It's all about inovation not imitation. Coney island and worst damn root beer are garbage, along with mission brewery hard root beer.

Now, I can only drink 1 (cause it is sweet like soda) either before or after drinking but not your fathers is pretty damn good.

If you like "hard soda" try Jed's hard orange cream. That is freaking awesome. Taste just like a Creamsicle and you can't taste a drop of alcohol. It's made by Saranac, haven't tried the black cherry or root beer yet but the orange, wow. Again only 1 for me, can't do much sweet.
