@Crabpot88 that makes sense. Is there a lot of matches in the Carolina’s ?

 

I know TRC did a couple 3 guns matches before. Hopefully they’ll start up again.

 

They need more steel for open shooters

 

Would you run a tube Gun or Ak style shotguns ?

 

Tube is cheaper and easier to run, AK is way more fun though

 

Is there a specific one of each you would recommend ?

 

Benelli M2 or Stoger M3K for tube
Dissident is most popular for open but genesis is starting to become popular

 

I use a Stoeger M3K but I did several matches with a Pump 870. A lot of people give Stoeger crap but it will run and not break the bank.

 

Know plenty of people that run it with no issues

 

For limited Benelli M2 with comfortech stock.
Open, I have a Firebird Custom that Jim built for me that only has about 1,500 rounds through. Excellent. Has mid-barrel comp and two mercury recoil reducers in the stock. Cost then, was over 3K. Bought a RIA VR80, as a “backup” that I shot just enough to get broken in so it will run light trap loads but, due to medical reasons I don’t foresee ever shooting another 3-gun match😞
I’ve heard good things about Tooth and Nail Armory, if you don’t want to screw around and just buy an open gun
