Yeah, he probably wouldn't have won it if it hadn't been for the fact that a panel of representatives of the entire world chose him instead of being chosen by a very small group of haters in the U.S. m49

This is a joke, right?

Isn't the peace prize supposed to be given to someone who has realized a goal that benefits humanity? Not someone who travels abroad espousing dreams and visions of utopia without the possibility of fulfillment.

Or is this simpy a consolation prize for not getting the olympics to come to chicago?

Sad and very hard to understand, I can't tell what references they have to him doing anything they've said..... or anything at all really.

Seems to me that Obama benefitted from following Bush,a guy who was despised in most of the world. Easy act to follow.
One of the statements that got me banned from Free Republic (for the 5th or 6th time, can't remember which) was "George Bush personally elected Barak Obama."

It just befuddles the crap out of me how people can howl in righteous indignation at an open blatant Marxist, yet pat on the head a person who runs as a "conservative" and then expands state power at light speed.

If you have a vote for "socialism" vs "socialism lite" people pick the real thing every time.

There is 2 reasons to get the prize, for actually accomplishing something or to be encouraged to do something.

If Jimmy Carter can get one for disarming North Korea of their Nukes...

And Nelson Mandela can get one, in spite of him being a terrorist that is a close, personal friend of a terrorist (Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi), and accepted money, arms, and other logistical support from them, turning the nation he took over (South Africa) into a major small arms supplier for the world, ensuring the success of many sub-Saharan genocides...

Well. This just goes to show that the Nobel Peace Prize hasn't meant a damned thing in years. They hand them out to incompetents, terrorists, and now they've handed one to an empty suit that made promises of doing things opposite of his predecessor but continues every program that guy implemented.

i do belive that the founding fathers are crying right now. because of what this country has become. now they give out peace prizes to a man that has done nothing but lie to people and try to get everything ran by the goverment. and yet people belive that he is doing good. sometimes i am ashamed i live here...... just sometimes. both my grand fathers fought in WWII and one still fought in korea. i have friends fighting in iraq right now! but i cant belive so many people in this world are so stupied.....:crying::confused:

I am just waiting for him to "spread the wealth around". It IS a $1.4 million prize. I am going to get in line at the nearest Acorn office and wait for my check.

Oh, wait. I am white, working, and Christian. No check for me.

If there really was justice in the world we'd be seeing Ashton Kutcher about now on the white house lawn with the "Punked" crew......
