So I see this Marlin 883ss that I thought I just had to have last night and met the guy and bought it. After I get home and really start picking it over good, I start asking myself if I paid too much. I didn't even know these existed until yesterday but when I saw it was a .22 mag and tube fed made by Marlin, I couldn't help but want it in a bad way. It's missing the front site post, shroud and one screw, has a couple of little marred places in the stock but nothing bad and a few light scratches in the barrel (no gouges or dug out places at all). He was asking over $300 and came to $290 and threw in a box of CCI mini mags for the site missing. It also came with a 4x32 Simmons .22 mag scope.

Did I overpay? Either way if I did or didn't, I'm happy with it and plan to shoot it like it's going out of style as soon as the weather breaks a little up here in the frigid mtns.

That's my thinking. Even if I paid a little too much, I am very happy with the rifle and haven't even shot it yet. I cannot tell you what excitement I feel when I get another tube fed Marlin. It makes me warm and fuzzy inside! lol I cannot wait to shoot this thing, and I may just have to freeze my butt off come Sat morn. ;)

Just stopped to think about it for a minute, I now have:
Model 60 .22
Model 883ss .22 mag
Model 925m .22 mag
Model 9 (Camp 9)
Model 336 30-30
X7VH .223 with 26" bull and synthetic stock

I guess you could say I love my Marlins!

Asked myself the same question after buying a BP inline 50 w/scope. Paid $100 for it but has a nice leather sling w/quick mts. Figured the sling/mounts/see troughs/and scope is worth the money.

You didn't overpay if that's what it is worth to you!
I got the chance to shoot it a couple times last night and I have to say......I love it like all the other Marlin tubes I've had. Glad I got this. I never liked my 925 due to the mag hanging off the bottom of it. I couldn't sling it due to the mag poking me in the back and I didn't like putting the mag in my pocket. I'm completely satisfied with this 883 and the 925 will be for sale. ;)

I've got a 783 and an 883, both blued with walnut stocks. I paid $140 for one, and $200 for the other. I imagine that stainless adds to the price, so I wouldn't call it over paying if its what you wanted and you didn't mind spending the money.

Well, if I can get my images to load to the gallery that I am trying to load them on, I will post a pic..... Time will tell.

I fell in love with this gun about a year and a half ago. The one I had was so nice that both my Father and my Step Father had to have one. I kept up my search and found both of them one.

These are very nice rifles, imo!

OH man, I really love it so far. I'm on the hunt for more ammo now as this will likely replace my 10/22 with the Shillen barrel. lol With the price of ammo these days, I can shoot the magnum as cheap as the lr.

22lr is ridiculous, I've got two 22lr that I don't have ammo for. My .17hmr ammo used to look expensive in comparison, but nothing is $12 per 50 rounds is still better than not being able to shoot at all. Congrats on the new toy, saw one in a local pawn this week that was about the same price and was dinged up all over and no ss.
