The last time I ate a Pop Tart I was about 12 years old but it was buttered.

 

My S'mores Pop-tarts don't need anymore than what comes out of the foil. I don't even heat them up, just eat them.

I'm with these guys. And I've eaten my fair share of pop tarts I've the last 40 years. A majority of them for breakfast on some kind of church trip.

My second wife learnt me about mater sammiches, my third wife learnt me about buttering pop-tarts.
Mostly now if I have Pop-Tarts, it's straight out of the package.

My mom used to give them to us before school years ago..and they were liberally covered with butter. It definitely helps the uber dry pastry parts.

As I recall, the "correct" way was go with an unfrosted Pop Tart, which I haven't seen in ages. The cinnamon ones were best; brown them in the toaster, then butter the Top Part O' the Pop Tart.

Then go do something kinky with the wife and the butter.

I do love about a full stick of butter on my toast and popcorn, and have the scars to prove it, but butter on a poptart is simply wrong. Unless you have a serious drung habit. Then rock on.
