So who is going
This is usually the worst show C&E does, but it's the closest one to me.
Like you said...only because it's close to home.
Will it be open both days (Sat & Sun)?
the last C&E show in Charlotte...was so disapointing...i may not waste a saturday
maybe when fall rolls around it may pick up a little
Never been to this show, Is it worth the drive?
Depends on the Drive. Overall, I would say its the smallest C&E gun show in the Central Carolina Area. Smaller than Charlotte, Hickory, Raleigh, Greensboro. Might be comparable to Lexington gun shows, just depends on if people show up. Sometimes it has been good, and I have got good deals, but it's usually not full (at least the last 2 times). It's worth if you are within say 45 minutes. If you are over that, I would say it's a waste. I will give you a report on it when I go, so if you want to wait to go till sunday you will at least have that!
I'll wait to hear back from you on this one, I'll be driving from Boone/Lenoir area. So it's a haul.
I'll be there.
I actually like the Winston show,,, I have a chance to hang out and talk to a lot of people I sometimes only see once in a while.
I've got a really good matching M44 I'm going to take as trade fodder...
I'll be there sunday since I have to work saturday
I'll probably be there Sat with the stuff I'm trading...
I will be there I'll have a few Items I will be selling.
i'm still learning my way around down here...how far is that from where i'm at (fort mill sc)...even if its far,i may go...being how much better the gun laws are down here.it's be bette rthen nething i've ever been to back in ny
If I were you, I would wait to spend my Gas money on a trip to the Greensboro gun show at the end of August. That's the best show in NC by far. W-S from Fort Mill SC would be a waste I believe. You could wait on my report and go Sunday.
Ditto. There's also a Charlotte show coming up in August, but I can't remember if it's C&E or a Dixie gun show. I'm only about 45 minutes from the W-S show, but I rarely go because there are usually very few dealers and even fewer deals to be found, unless you luck up and buy something from someone coming in the door.
Im in K-ville. Ill be there for sure trying to pick up some 9x18mak for cheap. cz97 if available.
I quit going to the W-S show a couple of years ago. Yes, I have lucked into a deal there before, but with no reloading supplies for sale, my main reason for going is gone.
I'm one of those guys who has a never ending hunger for mil surps....
And even a small gun show is a chance for me to check out a lot of them in one day....
Oh yeah,,, and to buy as much of the 5.56 I can before the rest of you do....
benn, you would have loved our C&R shootout in the Uwharries last month. Ill be sure to post the next one on here!
I had planned on going to that for a few weeks,, but got screwed into working that weekend..............
Next time I'll just lay out........
Everyone that's going make sure you print off one of these.
Any updates from the show? I'm just curious if this show was different and there was anything worth going for.
Wow, got back not to long ago from the Show, never stayed that long before. Was the best W-S show I had been too as far as selection ever. More than a few new vendors for W-S shows. They had 2 vendors caring reloading components!!!!!!!
I ended up buying a L1A1 Fal (GTM1 I got the Wood One!) and a M44 from Bennn
Had a new parts vendor Keystone Gunparts. I would say if you are not to far, this one was worth the drive.
I'll make a better report later.
How much did the L1A1 set you back?
Actually it wasn't to bad.
For you reloaders... The lady with the dog. The guys who are always in the back left side of G-boro was also there.
Some ammo but not a lot.
Prices were at their normal high.
I did score a nice .308 Enfield.
Saw and talked to Zombiefragger and his lady friend and Trazar and bennnn.
I may go back tomorrow. There were a couple other little things I wanted to pick up.
Trazar did you talk to the guy with the IMBEL after you got the woody?
I had a good time. I think tommorow will be more productive for me tho. Spooky and I will meet up for breakfast and hit it kinda early if anyone else is interested in a meet up.
Yeah, I talked to him before I left again, and he had just bought a slip on flash hider, I think we convinced him to keep it. =)
Btw pics of the two new stallions in the stable.
At least I got to hold that top one for a few minutes................
I found the Tapco SKS mags though...........
I spent more $ at the C&E Raleigh show last month than I did at the last 4 Dixie shows combined. Not as many dealers but the ones there had things that I was interested in. I now own more "stuff".
Glad you guys made it to the last Winston show...this one has been a comer for the last two years...ever since they stopped charging for parking...more people show up and then more vendors show up(believe me, we talk to each other about shows; re: attendance, sales, etc.)...Catch-22.
This has gotten better every time and I suspect (it being Labor Day weekend notwithstanding) the September 1st and 2nd show will be better than we've seen in a few years. This show is definately in a regrowth mode. In July, I sold (and bought) a lot of guns and had a very successful show.
Since my gun shop opened on August 1st, my gun show participation has been curtailed but I think I may do the Winston show on September 1st & 2nd, even if it means my shop is closed for the day. Lots of customer traffic and lots of vendors with interesting items (i.e. guns vs. jerky) equals a successful gun show.
catman, where is your store at. i may have to drop in and say howdy.
