Went and did some mtn. bike recon of the camping area today. There are two campsites on the right side before the end of the road. The first one is marked WF2. The sign is about 50 feet off the main drag on a little side road that you can pull down. Didn't ride down into the site but it looked plenty big enough for a crowd from the main road. Second site is marked WF5 and is pretty close to the road. Parking here is just a wide spot on the right side of the road that could probably hold 5 cars. Big site but parking could be a bit of an issue. Big parking area at the end of the road at the gauging station. Perhaps a shuttle from there would be needed. There are other sites close by if an overflow backup was needed.

If anyone is up for some mountain biking, I can certainly take a group out for a ride. I can make it as easy or difficult as you want to go. Just let me know in advance.

What is the rule with firearms here. Is CC legal as long as I'm not drinking? Am I good to have the 12 gauge in the truck?

CC with permit is good to go if you're not drinking.
12 gauge in truck is okay.
12 gauge outside of truck, pick up a hunting license, this is in the midst of game lands.

More smokes and cocktails for us.

Should we be doing a big spread for dinner? Like a potluck thing? I'm thinking "no" given that we don't really know who's showing up and I can't cook.

Oooo venison. Wife is seeing if she can find a bed and breakfast. If she can we may cone down. Would camp but she cannot handle the cold with her shoulder issues. Cold just kills her.

Well, the campsite is ~30 minutes into the woods. There's a Hampton Inn at the entrance to the forest. Hendersonville is 20 mins from there.

I am going to see if I can get free that weekend... What time is everyone leaving Sunday?

Update: I can't make it. I have to help run a Tourism Summit for the Town of Hillsborough that Saturday. :(

    Next time!

30 minutes into the woods from where? I was hoping to throw my tent from the truck and pitch it where it lands! :)
BTW...I'd really like to get some fly fishing pics of Seabee if you don't mind me tagging along.....you're not planning to fish more than a few hundred yards from the beer cooler are ya? :)

I meant that the site is 30 minutes from anything resembling "town". The actual site is spitting distance from road.

Sure, I'll go fishin'. Be warned, I don't wear waders.....

Just a reminder that I have quite a bit of camping gear available for use on this trip. Sleeping bags, chairs, Thermarest pads, tents, stoves, low profile cot, ENO hammocks....ect.
Let me know if there's a need.
