If you are not familiar with Alyssa read this thread:

http://carolinashootersforum.com/showthread.php?t=71376

So, I'm gonna teach a CCH class on Saturday, April the 24th, starting at 9am. Class will end at approximately 6pm.

********************************************************************* 2nd DATE ADDED: Saturday May the 29th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL proceeds will go directly to Alyssa's family. Price for the class is $50 per person.

There are a couple of ways we can do this. By reading through the thread you will see there is a way to use Paypal to send money directly to them. If you wish to contribute in this fashion, please let them know when you contribute that you wish to take the CCH class.

OR:
JT (MyNewNCHome) will be at the class to collect funds and deliver them to Alyssa's father.

Lunch will be provided. Some members have already volunteered to help out by bringing food or drinks. This is great. We will use this thread as a "sign up sheet". If you are coming and want to bring something, just post.

Students may also use one of my handguns and ammo for the class free of charge. Of course it's gonna be a Browning Buckmark .22, but it's free and you don't have to use your ammo.

If the weather cooperates, we will be able to accommodate up to 20 folks, and we will spend more time at the campfire and picnic tables than we will inside the "classroom". If the weather does not cooperate, we can teach maybe 10 or 12 max and have to pick a second day to hold a class, but one way or another we'll work it out.

The best way to contact me outside of the internet is to call me at work from 8am til 5:30 pm. The # is 919-542-2189. Just ask for Bill.

My address (which is where the class will take place) is:

3755 Pittsboro Goldston Rd.
Pittsboro NC 27312

Any questions ask away.

Bill

Alright, I've tallied up everything so far and we still have 10 slots available for the April class and 12 slots available for the May class.

Please speak up in here or send me a pm if you plan on coming to either one.

Thanks
Bill

Ok, the other guy interested at work got back to me (he works nights and is not on the forums). Both him and his brother are planning to come to the May class. Can you PM me direct contact details please, so I can pass them on to him. Thanks!

Bill, if you're ok with a forum noob attending, I'd love to particpate in the April 24 class. I'll be coming from Raleigh, but sounds like the drive will be worth it. If needed, my name is Jason Blanchard. Thanks!
Jason, I'm sure he would not have a problem at all (safety is paramount not being a forum noob)... From Raleigh (depending on where) should not take to long 45 minutes give or take. If you need directions just let me know.

Many thanks! Safety comes first. That's been one of my favorite things about bringing a firearm into the house. It has given me a reason to have a SERIOUS gun safety talk with my 9 and 6 year old boys. Talking with them while holding a Nerf just never felt real. Of course, it will be an ongoing conversation, and I hope to raise them with the respect for safety my father and grandfather instilled in me.

You are on the list ChuckD.

I am not posting a list here. It's like voting. Some people really view it as a private thing. Even though this is a gun site, I wish to respect some folks privacy.

Thanks
Bill

Couple of announcements concerning the April 24th class.

Looks like it may rain that evening, so dress appropriately for conditions. Footwear that you can get wet, and maybe throw a raincoat in the vehicle for later.

Looks like we might eat hot dogs for lunch, maybe throw some deer tenderloin in the smoker too, or on the grill. A couple of members have already volunteered to bring hot dogs and sodas and water. If anybody else wants to eat something different or bring something just let us know.

Rantingredneck and a couple other members are coming to help out even though they already have the class.

LEAVE YOUR FIREARMS AND AMMO IN YOUR VEHICLE!
We'll let you know when to get them out. This is a larger class than I normally teach so everybody bear with me cause it's hard to watch 20 folks all at once. Obviously, if you are using one of my handguns, this doesn't apply.

My address is:

I AM THE SECOND HOUSE ON THE DRIVEWAY!!!!!!

Do not stop at the first house (the brick house that is close to the road) and knock on the door and ask how to get to my house. Anybody who does this will lose their seat in the class. This is my boss man's house and he likes to sleep in on the weekends. I know it sounds harsh but I don't know how else to get people to stop doing that.

I am the second house on the driveway.

Our driveway is directly across from J and M Paint and Body Shop. There are two brick columns on either side of our drive. This is where you pull in. Once you pull in, you will be staring at a brick and vinyl two story house. Do not stop there. That is house #1. You pull to the right of that house and keep on coming back into the woods. You will crest a little hill and see small fruit trees lining both sides of the drive, and various gardens and corn patches and ponds. Keep coming. When you see my kids play fort and my dummy deer that is where you veer off to the right and we will show you where to park.

Any other questions just ask.

And please explain to your wives that the cows behind the fence do not generally jump the fence and attack folks like rabid dogs. Yes,we are in the country, and things may be a little different, but you will be safe and probably have a good time also. (Not to be condescending if you are from the city but some of the questions folks ask when they get out here are starting to freak me out a little. Yeah, the cows are viscous killers, that's why my kid's play fort is 20 feet from the fence. Oh, you didn't have cows in New Jersey? Sorry.LOL!)

Thanks
Bill
