does any one use one? I have seen one guy in my neighborhood (just seen him once) and the he was wearing it beside his pistol.

and everybody wasn't freaking out, I guess they thought it was a law enforcement office.

Kinda like cops wearing camo.

Yep I have always thought the same thing. Cops wearing camo is about as gay as it gets. While I do recognize some of them where miitary or still are they are acting as a cop now and to me it portrays them in a bad light. If you want to be a cop be a cop, if you want to serve the armed forces then do that, but cops are not soldiers or even close quit trying to be something you are not Paul Blart. It just screams I guess you would call it Mall Soldier.

On a serious side, something I have asked LEO before, Why doesn't North Carolina issue CCW handgun permit with licensee's
picture on it like SC does ?? Identification much better, much easier, more durable.
Current CCW looks like a 60's drivers license.
Please stop making sense.

I would not wear one, and I would not buy one. On the other hand, suppose one accidentally flashes and a soccer-mom type sees it. Is it possible that a badge would calm down the person, who would then not dial 911?

Otherwise, I see the CCW badge as a waste of money, if not an ego compensator.

They're silly but that's the biggest positive to them. I do see them as a way of preventing soccer mom hysteria if one also looked the part, but most who get them look like security guard rejects.

It's probably all about money. I would think it would cost more to make them with a picture? Of course, they could just make them be an endorsement on your current DL and you wouldn't even have to carry a separate card.
