Hey guys, I found a local CCW class in my area and was hoping to take their December class. The cost is $95, just wondering how much these courses usually run. Thanks. Alex.

I've been looking for one in the Raleigh area, and from what I've found, there is a pretty huge range. I found a few people who were doing "summer specials" in June and July (yeah, I know, a little late for that) for as low as $40, all the way up to some people trying to get $150

If your talking about Greenville area: CSI (Tom who does the $10 transfers) near farmville charges $75, which is a sat course (first of each month) and that includes lunch its at his farm. Beaufort CC does it for $75 also once a month (its broken up into thursday night 6-11 and Sat 8-1), they have a nice classroom and a range on campus. One of the deputies in Lenior county does it at their LE range (I forget the price but it is same range). The indoor range in Goldsboro does it for $75. Someone at the outdoor range in goldsboro also does the course, I think $75 as well, which is obviously the going rate in this area. There is a guy on Frog Level rd in greenville that charges slightly more. I would recommend you go with Tom/CSI or the BCCC course. You need to know Tom b/c he is best gun guy in area to know ($10 transfers). BCCC course is best facility wise, your taking it in a very nice BLET classroom/instructor environment.

You need to take into account what is offered for your money. The one I took was $125.00. Finger prints and pictures were taken at the class. $50.00 of that was for the SC CWP fee. The instructor answered any questions we had on filling out the state application. He also sent the package to SLED for us. All I had to do was show up, enjoy the course, go home and wait. The benefit of this for me was that I didn't have to run around afterwards to have finger prints and photo taken and then find out there was something wrong with them and have to redo them. Like 1 stop shopping.

Yeah, I told the guy I was 19, and he said it was fine. I just need my mom or someone else to go that's 21 so I can take the pistol.
Why do you need to take someone? Is that the instructors requirement?

You can have a pistol in your possession at 18, you just can't buy one till you're 21.

North Carolina law does not currently address specific age requirements for the purchase of weapons. Rather, they look to the federal standards for such restrictions.

Under federal law, at 18 U.S.C. § 922(b)(1), federally licensed gun dealers are prohibited from selling handguns to persons under the age of 21. Further, all other purchasers of shotguns and rifles are required to be at least 18 years old.

North Carolina General Statute § 14-269.7 provides that it is a misdemeanor for any person under the age of 18 to possess or carry a handgun.

When I took the class we had a recently released Felon in there with us. A condition of his probation was to take the class since he used a handgun in his crimes and carried illegally.

He wasn't given a permit but he got a certificate.

NC Concealed Carry course is $75 at the Wake County Firearms Education and Training Center.

I teach the North Carolina and the Utah Non-Resident courses. We charge $75 for each or $110 for Both. We teach at the American Legion in Spring Lake. I will travel for enough student, range, and classrom.

(I say "I" and "We" because my teaching partner is in Afghanistan right now so you are stuck with me for now.)

Call Young Guns in Apex, to get Charlies last name and phone number he lives off 42 twix and tween Holy Springs and FV and he has a class just about every Saturday. You might have to wait a month but well worth the wait for him. I think he is around $75 and limits his class to 11.
