I have seen this stuff at Wally world and on some hunting shows. Anyone use it locally and have success or is it all crap. I just can't see introducing a new odor to a hunting area is a good idea. Is this something that you have to put time into over a period so the deer become acustom to the odor and jump on it.

I have used it this year in Ohio with success, but here it will make deer go around any area you have it out. I'm guessing our deer have so much food source that they don't really need it. The only thing I have seen work here is their "buck Gravy". Looks like maple syrup with alot of salt and vanilla in it, but it works. Pour it out on an old stump and watch the stump disappear! I had some gave to me, but its 20.00 at Wal-Mart. I like it, but I don't see myself going back and buying more unless it comes down!

These type products do work but may not work well in your area depending on the mix and what your ground has in it for natural menerals and how well the deer get what they need naturaly. I have try one brand Black Magic , where i live and it went untouched . Dumped a bag in another state, half around a stump base and the other half bag just across and area of ground in a bottom and deer had those two spot dug down deep and several very nice deer were killed over them. Also screw the lid of a can of peanut butter to a tree and cut the bottom out. It does seem to draw deer in that have never seen a peanut before. This time of year remember that deer will go to any acorns or other crops they have around first and till they are gone they will walk right buy most ever other food product.

Look for a product called Buck yum instead. They have it at the Walkertown feed and seed.

We use corn in our feeders, and it normally takes a couple of weeks for the deer to find it. A buddy of mine moved his feeder, put some buck yum in it and on the ground and had deer all over it within 20 minutes.

It has peanuts and other tasty strong scented stuff in it. I plan on putting some out next Friday for opening BP day on Saturday.

I have an issue with baiting animals, hell, your already gonna blow them away with a rifle which hardly makes it a challenge.

I honestly think NC needs to do what VA has done, make baiting illegal. You can't even put salt licks out where I hunt. I kinda like it that way, sure I might not always get a deer, but atleast it's somewhat fair.

Rifle season is also only 2 weeks long in VA, the rest is BP and Archery, certainly makes it a little more of a challenge. But that means I have NEVER even shot a deer with a rifle, first one was with a BP rifle.

Corn is also bad for deer, if they eat enough it causes some pretty bad side effects.

Read this if you actually care about the deer your hunting.

http://www.farmanddairy.com/columns/feeding-deer-corn-is-not-the-best-thing-to-do/14293.html Corn and other baits really are bad for the deer population. Your best bet is to be kind to the animals that provide you meat and hunt them over natural food sources.

Depends on the situation. if you're like me with a very small area to hunt in NC most likely you'll have to draw the deer in. So, I'm more than happy to put out attractant here.

ive beeen using these buck bombs the past couple weeks and i have had tons of bucks on my camera and i have and my buddy got a total of 4. i use some corn couple bags of apples and then when i go out i put a can of the buck bomb out there. they come running and it also stays in the area so more bucks will fins the area over time and because of the food they stay close by. the doe estrus you hang ont he little foam things on a branch work but the buck bombs make a huge fog mist kinda thing and flow through the woods.

worth buying imo. they are on sale for $7 at dicks this week. get a few and use them a few days in a row when you go hunt. should work good.

Never even had a deer look at the C'mere deer. I heard that it is just rice bran. There was a farmer in Mt. Pleasant, NC, selling rice bran last year $12 for 50#. That is a lot cheaper than $24 for about 3# of C'mere deer, but remember, Hank Parker still needs to make a living.

And this has what to do with the OP's topic?
