I haven't seen this before. Anyone have the latest scoop?

1259 General Bill, By Elliott
A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING ARTICLE 9
TO CHAPTER 31, TITLE 23 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN HANDGUNNext AND ASSAULT
WEAPON AMMUNITION MUST BE CODED, TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT
DIVISION (SLED) TO ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ARTICLE, TO PROVIDE THAT
CERTAIN AMMUNITION MANUFACTURERS AND VENDORS MUST REGISTER WITH SLED, TO
PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN INFORMATION ABOUT TRANSFERS OF AMMUNITION MUST BE
MAINTAINED AND MADE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION, AND TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR
VIOLATIONS OF THE PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN THIS ARTICLE.

Thats no different than hand gun registration, if they know what kind and how much ammo you have then they know what kind of guns you own. Sounds like the first steps in confiscation to me.

The Government doesn't need to know what I own.

How are they going to know that everybody disposed of the un-tracable ammo. Not like they can come to your house and look for it.
