When it comes to hunting rifles, which do you prefer, a common caliber such as a 30/30, 30-06, 270 or a not so common caliber such as a 325, 204, 260, 280? Just curious as I'm always thinking that if you use a caliber that is common and need a box of rounds, you can usually find those(even though you should never get into a situation like this) as opposed to Johnny's General store not having a box of 280's or 204's. I know some like a particular round and load their own and always have plenty on hand, but tell me which you prefer or use.

I do my fair share of shooting and hunting with hard to find calibers, 260 Rem & 25-06 Rem. These are not obsolete, but good luck finding ammo for them in Eastern NC. I reload, so I do not concern myself with ammo availability. Today I hunt mainly with a pistol, so I will include these rounds (7-30 Waters, 218 Bee & 41 Mag) in the same category. If you shoot these last three rounds, you must load your own.
