Interested in doing some competitive shooting just for fun. Also would love to get involved with one of the On Target programs, or really just any shooting group that would welcome a woman in Upstate SC. Many groups really do not. Any info appreciated. Love to shoot, but have been discouraged that women often do not seem welcome. Thanks.

Greenville shooting club has several women and girls at their IDPA matches. They also have many women at the SASS. I don't know about the CPSL matches, or the shotgun.

You also have competitive shooting in Spartanburg, Clinton, and Rock Hill.

Do you have an idea about what type of competition shooting you might want to do?

Thinking about steel challenge. Live in Clinton and have contacted the Clinton House several times to see what they have with no response. Might only be clay stuff there.

Depending on what kind of shooting and exactly where you are, Mecklenburg wildlife club does an excellent idpa match. There are several women there and they always have a great time. I know they would love to have you. Also, there is a uspsa match in lake lure and one in troutman that may not be too far. I have shot a couple of times at pappy's in rock hill. Several female shooters there. I am honestly surprised that you have not felt welcome art any event. These are some of the friendliest folks I have met.
