Coupons for Ammo?

I just took the time to fill out a stupid Dick's Sporting Goods customer survey because of the promise of a $10 off coupon. Once I got the coupon the fine print says it can't be used for ammunition. Without coupons, shopping for gun stuff in stores (opposed to the internet) is just a waste of money. What places accept coupons for ammo? Does Walmart?

Dicks has a bad habit of excluding ammo and guns from their coupons. That, and their usually high prices, are why I don't shop there much. The only two real scores I got from there in the past two years have been a Ruger 10/22 on sale, and a a Pardner Protector shotgun, also on sale. FWIW, their ammo selection is lousy.

I haven't had any problem using coupons for ammo at Dicks. The cashiers generally don't read the fine print and it's not coded into their computer system as prohibited AFAIK.

Take it to the University store. They take coupons for ammo. I've used them there.

I was wondering if I could get by with this. Thanks for the insight! I happen to work right next to the University location :thumbup1:

Success! I used my coupon for $10 off purchases over $50. Picked up a Blackhawk soft gun case ($35) and a box of Remington .45 target ammo($19) for $45 or so after tax. The cashier didn't even look twice.

I have to point out, Dick's inventory is pathetic. They were out of literally everything. It's like a ghost town in there with all their empty shelves. No shooting glasses, no bore snakes in .45 or 12ga caliber, no full length cleaning rods, no red dot scopes, no good knife sharpeners, no clay shooting accessories... (If you can't tell, that's all the stuff on my "to-buy" list)

I just got one of the rewards coupons since I had earned a certain number of points from purchases. It is for $20 and does not state in fine print that it cant be used for ammo or firearms; fwiw to anyone that is signed up on their rewards program.

The Dick's local to me in Winston had suprisingly low ammo stock lately, and only one type of 223/5.56 ammo I think. My local walmart has also looked like it was hit by a tornado in the sporting goods area. Looked very picked over, but luckly still had a few boxes of WWB 100ct. 9mm and $10.99 boxes of Federal 9mm.

Yup. I should've taken a picture of the shelves at Dick's. It looked like the bread aisle right before a snowstorm
