Not sure if this has ever been done or talked about in the past but have we ever had a CSC Swap meet of sorts? I know we are having some regional meeting but how about a swap meet? Bring any and all guns, gear etc that you want to sell or trade and meet up somewhere. I know the meeting place would be somewhat sensitive but not impossible. What do you guys think??

EDIT: I have a friend that owns a gun shop in Lexington that I might could talk into letting us do it at his place in the parking lot. I will report back and let people know in a couple weeks because he is currently out of town.

If people want to do that at the function I'm hosting it is totally cool with me. Just follow the laws.

I can not believe you guys are trying to organize an event to utilize the "gun show loophole" the libtards always talk about....

Seriously, sounds like a good idea.

    Sounds good

  7. That would be great. I would like to bring a grill and cook hotdogs or such... Make it a big cookout/yard sale, so the gunshow loophole does not apply. People have guns for sale at out yard sales in the mountains...

I have some various parts and ammo I could be persuaded to sell to fellow members at pre-panic prices... Just have to dig it out..

Depending on where it is at I can drag out the hot dog cart to help with food. :)

We did a couple at my place a few years ago but they got way to big. I think we had like 30 people at the last one.

I made this edit to my original post but thought I would also answer here.

I have a friend that owns a gun shop in Lexington that I might could talk into letting us do it at his place in the parking lot. I will report back and let people know in a couple weeks because he is currently out of town.

I am interested in this as well. I will check with Andy over at H2O fowl farms to see if we can do it at his range in Dunn.
Plenty of parking, wide open field to set up tables and such, and six big bays for whatever....
Tarheel Targets could sponsor an "IDPA sampler".... that is, set up a short, easy stage and allow first timers a chance to get their feet wet. I would also bring a grill or a fryer, a couple coolers full of sodas and water, and bring some target stuff to sell.

I think this has a TON of potential to become an annual event.

I think this is a good idea. My partners and I have a range and training facility in Franklinville, NC and 6500 sq ft of warehouse space. I've talked to my partners and we're willing to see if our location can work. You can get more info by visiting our website at www.triadtacticaltraining.com and you can find the location. Which is about 8 miles East of Asheboro on Hwy 64. SpareRib

That's damn near in the middle of CSC's target zone. Most of the membership is in NC, SC, & VA. That would be a long haul for Charleston or Richmond members, but for the right event, planned in enough advance, I think it would work. There are quite a few hotels in Asheboro, and, if anyone needed to plan it as a weekend, the NC zoo is there. And Delk's surplus.....that is like the super wally world of surplus.

Can any of our long distance brethren chime in with their thoughts?

    I'm in. Don't care where. I'm there.

We've talked about this and are definitely happy to make it an 'official' event for the club. As always, the concerns are 1- being safe, and 2- being legal. As long as we've got all our bases covered here, lets pick a date and location and do it.
