YES I felt it in Creedmoor, just north of Raleigh. It was about 15-30 seconds long and my whole house shook gently. It was the first time I have felt that before.

 

I felt it here in Elkin...thought someone was kicking in my front door. Called my wife and they felt it in Uptown Charlotte as well.

 

Felt it in Durham too, I thought I had just gone crazy. Its blowing up Twitter

 

I felt it in Winston Salem... shook the house some, the computer screen was vibrating pretty good.

Fox is reporting on it now....... said it was a 6.0 centered in VA.

weird...coincidentally, there is a huge wreck on I-40 near Mocksville shutting down lanes in both directions

 

I missed it here, but a buddy posted on FB that he felt it close by. I heard some rumbling while I was outside by just figured it was the airport.

OK, just talked to the wife and she said the she could feel the chair shaking. Guess I missed it when I was working.

 

Felt it pretty strong in Chatham County! Of course, my boss and I are in an office trailer. Went next door to the body shop with concrete floor, said they didn't feel a thing.

Same here....got the hell out of my chair in a hurry and went downstairs....felt these things plenty of times in Southern California....but that's Southern California....Verizon wireless is down here....

 

I have to say, times like these social media kicks ass. Was already blowing up sites like this, Twitter and Facebook way before the news had anything about it.

 

I was in my car felt like my daughter was jumping up and Down but she was asleep. About 30 seconds later got a call from a friend telling me about it.

 

I felt it and as well and couldn't figure out what it was at first and thought I was losing it as well. Was the first one I ever felt so it was a new experience thats for sure.

Same here in Charlotte, I was like WTF is that. Crazy, just a bit ago. I went outside, thought it was a truck also. My house was rumbling and shaking, not really bad but freakily odd.

 

everyone that "felt" it.......i bet it wasn't until after you saw the new report that you realized you felt it, huh?

 

I am in Concord and didn't feel a thing.

It shook my house pretty hard in Mebane too. LOL.. freaked the kids out! I felt one in Washington State a long time ago, but like everyone else said you just don't expect to feel one here.

My two teenagers have Verizon phones and they were doubly freaked out that they didn't have any service. It's odd to think that they have ZERO concept of what it was like before cellular phones.

 

I did not feel it in Charlotte, but everyone else on FB did..

My Regional Manager called and said he felt it in Atlanta!
