OK, I see an ad in Shotgun News from DS Arms for AR barreled uppers, price was good so I ordered two, different styles, placed the order December 20, 2012. That is not a typo...it was LAST year. I was not in a hurry, because it was for a future project...then.
Anyway, order placed and times passes. I figure they are really swamped (this was when everyone was in panic mode and people were offering their kids in trade for ARs). But by March I decide to check, e-mail sent, no response. Phone call. rings and rings, no one picks up. After a week or so I call again, nice man says order in process, but they had QC issues with some barrels and this caused a delay, but should be good to go in 2-3 weeks. OK, as I said it was not a big rush for me and glad the inspectors caught a QC issue.
After 2 months still no receivers...call back, another nice guy tells me an almost identical story. Hmmmmm, interesting.
I think I'll just cancel the order, but figure WTH they haven't charged me anything and I'm in no big hurry.
Anyway after several calls and repeats of the same sad tale, I am told that ONE of them is ready and will be shipped (this is Nov 19, 2013). Charge appears on my card. December 12, 2013 my receiver appears. It looks good, as it should for as long as it took them to make it.
No clue when I may see the other receiver...maybe 2015?
Bottom line, my last dealing with DS Arms in Barrington, Illinois.

I think they are caught up in selling and making parts for others they supply for and then try to keep a store front up and running.
I waited 8 months for a upper then they put a A2 gas block and not the low pro, told me to return it and they would put me back in line.... I said screw it and sold it off.

Some small parts and other gear they ship fast, others like barrels, lowers, uppers, takes for ever.... THen QC, don't get me started.....
