The skeletonized rifle has been around forever. They were imported by Garcia and came in .22 over a .410. A friend used to have one. Don't have anything on the 9mm.....
 
Back in the '80, my grandfather had a .410 shotgun. I was Italian made, single shot break action that would fold over on its self to make it compact. It had a wood stock and fore grip.
It was a great squirrel gun. I wish I could remember the maker. With the internet of today, I could find more info about it.
That was another import from Garcia. It came in all 4 gauges and was very unique. Google Garcia Importers and see what comes up....
