I'm not talking about just your first gun, but the first one you really just loved everything about. Me personally just so happened to be my first handgun. A SW40VE, not the most expensive, not the flashiest, but I love the way that gun gripped and fired.
Please share yours down below!

After years of people begging Colt to sell 1911s and Commanders with decent combat sights, a beavertail grip safety, ambi thumb safeties, a decent trigger, and a checkered front strap... which everyone was having done aftermarket by gunsmiths... Kimber unveiled the CDP... and in addition to the above, the mainspring housing was checkered, and the combat sights had tritium inserts. And my CDP Pro (Commander size) shoots as good as it looks.

Colt Gold Cup Trophy, the matted stainless steel version that came out in the 90s. I was a young teen when I first saw it at an outdoors convention. I got a 2010 model NIB years later and it was my first really nice higher end gun. I’d only had glocks and AKs before that and love shooting other peoples 1911. Years later I’ve probably put 20,000 rounds through that gun and it still runs fine but seems a bit “looser” than it used to be. At some point I’ll get it refurbished and upgraded by a good 1911 smith.

Back in the late 80s I was competing in IPSC with a Springfield .45 with a drop-in comp and an assortment of add-on parts. Had a good year so I bought a Series 70 Colt in 38 Super and sent it to Ed Brown. A few months later I got my Maxi-Comp II. Custom made compensator threaded onto a 6" Bar-sto bull barrel. The patridge front sight dovetailed in. Rear sight milled into the slide. Custom mag well silver soldered onto a shortened grip. Checkering on the frontstrap and mainframe housing. Beavertail grip safety and Commander hammer. Videki trigger with a tiny amount of takeup that breaks like a glass rod. Cocobolo grips with allen screws. Ambi safeties and an oversize mag release. Full length guide rod. My IPSC days are long gone but that gun still shoots like it did the day I got it.
