Found a cool pistol hiding spot in my truck

I was installing my sons new carseat this evening and while vacuuming out all the months old Cheerios and M&M's between the seats I (re)found a couple storage compartments. The one under the middle seat (which does not have a carseat or booster over it) has a location that is perfect for a full-size pistol and a couple mags...or maybe a pound of weed or kilo of coke. ;)

Obviously this isn't a quick access spot, but it does offer a "relatively" safe location to store a pistol and/or other valuables that your average smash and grab jerk isn't going to find. I can even access it from the drivers seat with relative ease as a pull of the nylon cord brings the seat forward and the compartment is within arms reach.

This is an '05 Pathfinder BTW in case anyone has a Nissan truck and is interested.

My Toyota Tacoma has a couple of those in the back. One has the jack in it. The other has a keyed gun safe bolted over it now.
Counselvault? I have one in a storage compartment in my truck and love it. I added some spare foam to it so there's no more rattle. I can fit 2 full size pistols and magazines.

Just the cheap one from walmart bolted down to the floor. Just keep someone from rummaging through and walking off with it.

And I do mean the only problem I see with that as a hiding spot is someone getting a gun when you sell them the vehicle. Have you ever hidden anything from yourself or forgot you put something somewhere?
Ha, I have hidden something from myself before but never a firearm. What is in there now is my main training/competition pistol so no chance I forget it is there.

I have an 04 pathfinder with a strange package that gives it the Infinity interior. It has lots of little hidden spots, most aren't large enough for even a magazine. Hell even the glovebox is full with just a holstered glock 19 and a mag or 4. After living with it a few years, I'm not certain that it was designed for grown up sized folks. :(

Yup, the models prior to '05 were unibody whereas '05-'12 were built on the Titan frame. I don't like the "crossover" body they have gone to for the 2013's.

You know I used to be a huge car guy and stuff like that really mattered to me. If it didn't have over 450 horsepower or a diesel and 4x4, I just didn't care. Now I'm all like: "It has wheels. I like wheels."

We have an '03, but I like the 5-12 much better. Much larger and better styling.
The new ones are 3 steps back. Too small and car like. Should have given it a different name.
I completely agree, the new one doesn't say "Pathfinder" at all. I'm not much of a "car guy", but knew I wanted the newer body style when we bought it in '06 because of the larger interior and 3rd row seating. Makes a difference with two kids under 6 and a 90 pound chocolate lab.

I work at a car dealership and you would be amazed how easy it is to find and install a pistol safe in a car or truck without being able to see it.
I plan to do this in my F-150 soon. I'd like to get a fire-safe or ammo box bolted or welded to the floor.

What would the cost be on that type of work?

Keep in mind car fires burn hot and fast so they can be over before the fire department gets there. With a fire-proof safe, you're likely to just provide a safe environment for the contents to liquefy in. Personally I'd just save the money and go for security with no fire protection

But I carry a Glock? Aren't they impervious to everything except liberals?
