I was at a gun store this week, not naming any names or states, and in walks a guy wired up on some kind of drug or way too many Mt Dews. He says he needs some cash and wants to sell a rifle, again no names, that he bought there. He is asking for more then they are selling for new. The clerk low balls him an offer that I thought was a joke. It was for much less then the guy wanted and for an amount that would not buy two people dinner at most places. The guys tells the shop owner that is a ripoff, gets all upset, prances around like a jerk and then sells it to him and walks out like he hit the lotto.

I did not want to get involved at all and the gun was nothing special. They handled it like this happens every day, which is probably true. Now about the race issue, race had nothing to do with it. I did not mention any skin color at all because I did not think it was important but if you must know, he was a tall purple man, looked like a happy dinosaur and was singing about loving himself and everyone else. Go figure, got to watch those purple guys.

Neglecting to find the humor here. From what I can tell a drugie has a gun he wants to sell for smack. Was the gun REALLY his? We weren't told. What if it was stolen. The guy who prospers... The store clerk. Who is gonna suffer? All of us

Valid point, probably was stolen, but at least now the tweaker doesn't have it to hurt someone.

The OP said the guy bought the rifle there. So I doubt its stolen unless he stole it from himself lol.
Yeah, not always the case. I have people tell me all the time that they bought a particular thing from me at the shop, that we have never had on the shelf. You can't argue with these people because they know they did and you're a liar, and now you're just trying to rip them off.

Holy sh!t, some of you take things way to seriously. Just laugh at the funny story, and leave it at that.
Tell me what's so funny about the story? A guy on drugs sold a gun for crack. It makes all gun owners look bad. 1) That drug users could legally own firearms or 2) That guns are TOO easily accessible.

I agree with djacobs28056 when he said,

"...we will all suffer"

Your right, this is really a sad story. This guy does not represent all gun owners badly, just dumb people who are willing to give up something they enjoyed for a less then a tenth of what they paid because they are so bent on getting high again. The guy had his receipt and they knew him. The gun store probably did a good service by buying it back.

I hope that none of us ever get to this level in our lives that we are selling our stuff to buy drugs. Now I am assuming that is what he was going to do with the money based on how jittery and glazed over his eyes were. Maybe he just wanted more Mt Dew or Jolt Cola.

first off you don't have ANY proof this guy was on anything. You are assuming he's on some kind of drug because of his behavior. There are number of reasons and none of them are illegal why he may have been acting the way he was.Just think about it.No you just just assume this and have no proof whatsoever. Then you come on a public forum telling us this crap. All you are doing is giving the ANTIS more ammunition for thier cause.Unless you have proof this guy was on illegal drugs. All you are doing is spreading a rumor.People need to beware of what they post because all this does is make us all look bad.I don't mean to sound like an Ahole but thats how I see it.Also there are a number of reasons he may have needed the money.Think about that too. They may have been ready to cut his power off or anything.
People assume too much .Everything you've said about this guy is just an assumption no real proof.
If he had purchased a gun recently that meant he had passed a background check somewhere along the line. That means he did'nt have a criminal history.

Thanks for that nice lecture. I will have to share it with everyone else that came to the same conclusion that day. I offered him an out with the Mt Dew and the anti gunners have enough legislators already on their side that a case like this does not even matter.

thats ok I was at a shop near where I stay and something similiar happened there, the clerk told me that this guy came in and ask since he was a convicted felon would he be able to get his gun back if he pawned it to them, she promptly ask him to leave and dont come back, i would have taken the gun and then when he came to get it decline him due to his record. one less felon with a gun.
