Virginia law lists 20 conditions that would disqualify a person from being issued a concealed carry handgun permit. They include anyone in the United States illegally, subject to a protection from abuse order, or convicted of various criminal charges from drunken driving to assault and battery.

Well, at least they have that portion in bold included in there. Sure would hate to have an illegal alien walking around with a hidden gun, intent on shooting someone or anyone, just randomly, you know, like out of the blue....

WTH...

The move also means Virginians with a history of stalking, drug dealing or inpatient mental-health treatment cannot obtain a permit in a state with comparatively lax laws and carry a handgun legally at home.
Since when does one need a permit to carry in their own home?

Good luck with the court battles on that jughead

I would assume NC folks passing through would not be able to carry concealed. I regularly go into Galax, Hillsville and other small towns in that area.

Yep if he does this our NC CHP will not be valid in VA, their residents will be able to come here with their permits though. NC really screwed it when they gave reciprocity to everyone even if they did not give us reciprocity.

The change means NC CHP will no longer be accepted in Va, VA permits will still be fine in NC. NC recognizes all permits from all states. SO you are fine in Va to come to NC it is us in NC that are screwed if we want to travel north for some reason.
Ahh, I got it backwards then. Since I have a VA CCW (for now) I can still carry in NC, but when I get my NC permit next year again I wont be able to carry in VA.
