I know everyone is running to the newer single stack and the even newer high capacity micro 9s ( P365, M&P Shield Plus, Hellcat etc) but I like the idea of swapping mags between a 17 a 19 and a 26. So I guess my question is, for those of you that carried a 26, is how was it? Do you still carry one or did you go to a newer gun and if so why?

G26/27 is still EDC sometime. However it a bit bulky. G27 takes G23 mag with the sleeve over the bottom part of the mag. It works fine. I'd like to modify G27 grip to make it a bit smaller and ergonomically friendly in my hand. I'll probably will do it myself. At the same time sig 365 looks very seductive to me. :)

I carry a 26 every day. I use a leather OWB on my right hip that keeps it up close to my body so even a t-shirt will cover it. I tried the single stack 43 but did not like the recoil impact. The 26 has a much smoother recoil impulse.
I use the longer mags at the range when practicing with it but for EDC i use a mag with the finger extension for better grip.

I personally prefer the G26 for the same reason you do, it gives you a lot of flexibility with magazines without a lot of thinking if you are under duress. I do occasionally carry a G43 or even a LCP dependent on what I am wearing. I can carry the LCP or the 43 while wearing gym clothing and you'd never know it was there. In jeans and t-shirt, I'll appendix carry the 26 and have no issues with comfort or accessibility.

My opinion is the 26 is FAR from obsolete. If I could only have 2 guns it would like likely be a 26 and a larger Glock 9mm. If I could only have one “moderately priced gun” it would be a 23 (since i could run 9mm and 357 Sig with a barrel and mag change)

Glock 19s are my pretty much “do all” gun save for deep woods carry where larger 4-legged predators are present.

Built up a 26 for carry and do carry it occasionally. When I do I usually run it in a standard cheapo Glock holster. Carried it pretty often at first but find myself grabbing my 19s (or the 48/43x) more and more often particularly thru the cooler months. I still carry the 26 during the warmer months and always with a pinky extension mag with a G17 + mag as backup.

For ultimate discretion, i carry the LCP or P365 (to get back to the truck) but rarely.

Hey I appreciate the reply and the advice seems like the common thing I hear from everyone is that the pinky extensions is a must and I totally agree. I feel like I get a better purchase on my pistols when I have some where to put my pinky

I have started carrying my G26 MOS instead of my G19 MOS. I have shot two defensive pistol matches(November and December) at Crosse Creek Rifle and Pistol Club with it. I was initially concerned the short grip would be an issue if an emergency occurred. Thankfully, with the little bit of dry fire practice I do, also being old and slow, I haven't had any issues with my "quick draw" at the beep.
I use a Phlster Engima with a G19 length Tenicor holster. I have an Apex Duty Trigger, SCD Gadget and use a Gee Plate. The SCS is set to circle and dot. I tried circle only and dot only but like having both.
I don't understand why it seems to carry "easier" than my G19. It's not much smaller than the G19, but the "feel" is of a small gun. I'm trying to decide if I should sell my Boresight 19 and buy another G26 MOS.

I am trying out the Gripforce EBP on my reload. I used it during the November match and I like it. I initially wanted to use it on a G26 magazine but it hangs up on the lip of the 26 so it's on a G19 magazine.

I went the other way, a newer Sig SP2022. Got tired of Glock's (17s and 19s) feeling like a 2x4 as I got older, but wanted a large polymer pistol with good capacity that wasn't a P320 or P365. SP2022 is a hidden gem. When I really have to be discrete a Glock 42 fits the bill, and doesn't feel like a 2x4.
