i find it comical they believe those who wont obtain a permit for a private sale will undergo a nics check instead. those who will break the law will do so regardless of what the law is.

 

They cannot require a nics for private. As an ffl I cannot do a nics without a 4473 completed.

 

another funny, the permit will tell me if the person has an order of protection against them...really, the thing is good for 5yrs. if they whooped their spouse last month your not going to know.

Alright, well we knew it was possible the PPP repeal would be killed. I was surprised the bill came out of committee with the repeal still in place given that it was the most controversial part among the Republican caucus. Would have been better if they eliminated the PPP from the bill and kept the NICS check substitute for FFL transactions kicking in 3 years from now.
