I like it so far. I'm DVRing it incase I get side tracked and forget its on. I agree, recent mini series and made for tv movies have been pretty boring at best, this one is turning out to be really good IMO.

Wonder how close it is going to be as far as being historically accurate? You know they have to put drama and entertainment in.

Just finished watching tonight's episode, and watched last night too. It's pretty good and doesn't seem to have been too "Hollywood'ed up" from what little I know of the feud. Can't wait for tomorrow's finale. So far, this may be bluray worthy.

I haven't see it yet but I'll catch up with it being online. Looks like a great cast too.

    TY for the link, sr30!

I'm watching it and liking it big time. One of my favorite scenes was when the Justice of Peace (Powers Booth) pointed that big-bore-blued-short-barreled single action revolver at the Kentucky sheriff. Those big chunks of lead visible in the cylinder were very intimidating looking.

I hate that there are only 3 episodes. I am planning a trip to Devil Anse's grave site on my ATV this year. I know several who have been there on the trails and know how to get back. The movie is showing both guys as overall good people stuck in a bad situation.

I love it! It is pretty close to the things I have read about the events that happened.

Now that the series has aired, I can admit in public that I am acutally the bastard offspring of a Hatfield and a McCoy.

Okay, not really but I would have LOVED to have lived in this time period and enjoyed this series immensely.

Yep, it was great. Just by watching the series I found myself siding with the Hatfields. Mr. McCoy was too self righteous for me. He was annoying.

The show was very well done and somewhat accurate. I’m sure some facts were changed to make the show more “artistic” interesting.
I know a real Hatfield and he travels back to WV every September for a family reunion. He claims the term “real McCoy” came from that era. I looked it up on Goggle and sure enough it and about a dozen other places are listed as were the phrase originated.
This Hatfield claims most of the feud was over land rights as the border was defined as the Fork of the Big Sandy River . Well, the river kept changing, thus the border changed. He also said the “feud” still goes on to date. No blood, but lots of bad talk and lawsuits between the clans over land, cemeteries, copyrights, etc., and yes , the Civil War.

Interesting History. Some of the info that flashed by too quickly at the end of the 3rd night stated the Hatfield & McCoy descendants signed a treaty in 2003.

Interesting fact: The town of Hatfield and the attendant stately home (Hatfield House) is right up the road from where I was born/grew up. More than likely the original Hatfield stock were from just up the road from me :)
