Lauren shot the Western Region 4H tournament Saturday. She shot Senior Archery Compound as an individual. She shot 193 out of 200 and we just found out she qualified for the state tournament. She's excited to say the least.

    That's her in the middle.

    This is a fuzzy pic of her 10 yard group. A 50 - 2 10x.

Crazy thing is, she did this needing a new draw mod that's taking forever to get here. And we lowered the DW on Tuesday and re sighted it. Hoping the mod comes in this week so we can get her settled in and get some better practice before the shoot. She dropped a few points at 20 yards that she normally shoots better. 48 @ 25, 46 @ 20, 49 @ 15, and 50 @ 10.

Dang it boy, she shoots better groups with a bow than I do a pistol. :(

Oh don't worry, she has outscored and out placed me most of the summer in 3D. We are shooting different classes but I think she still gets a kick out of it. She shooting great right now but I still have a few things I want her to work on.

Thanks red. This is her main sport, so that helps. Just ordered a draw length mod for her, another dozen arrows to keep her 4h legal, and finally ordered a real bow press. And youngest wants another bow. Ouch. Only money, right. Lol. Family time shooting bows is priceless though.

Shot Ellerbe Saturday. Long day. Hot too. Lauren shot a 195 in Sporter. 47/50 from 25 yards, 49/50 from 20 yards, 49/50 from 15 yards, and 50/50 from 10 yards. 4H scoring is a bit odd. They do separate individual/team scores and also do a combined overall rank. She tied for 8th with 6 other shooters out of 2o individual shooters. Overall combined she finished tied for 19 with 9 other shooters out of 51 total shooters. It was her best score so far in a shoot, so the improvement is good to see. She got hot and a bit dehydrated on the line and may have accounted for her dropping a couple points that she usually does not. But weather and dealing with it is a part of it. Next time we will be planning better for that sort of thing. Had a good time. Met some great folks. Tried to fix a kids bow that de railed but my portable press was not up for the job. He managed to find a reasonably close shop that got him back up and running. She's trying to decide if she wants to go back to try out for the NC team to shoot at nationals.

The guy to the left in the black shirt is her teammate. He shot 200 out of 200 and finished 1st individual and IIRC first overall.
