I picked this up a few weeks ago and can't find much information about it. All the info I can find has the entire slide and barrel in black and bottom in sliver or vice versa. This one has a stainless barrel, black slide and silver bottom. Can anyone shed some light on it for me?

It is a little more shiny than the lower, the very few pics I could find online appeared that way also. The guy I got it from said it was like that when he got it and he bought many years back. Is that a Beretta thing? The upper slide doesn't always seem to match the lower on the Inox version either.

I would expect that the reason for the slight mismatch between barrel and frame is that the barrel is stainless steel and the frame is anodized aluminum; you are looking at two different materials and finishes.

I guess that's possible. When you look at the reverse two tone at Buds all the controls are sliver, on mine they are black. Somebody would've had to go through a lot of trouble to buy a stainless barrel and then have all of the controls colored black to match the slide.

Are any of the parts on the upper assembly (slide) serialized? (I haven't had a Beretta in years.)

I wonder if someone just swapped an Inox upper for a standard upper [which would explain the dark-colored controls), and switched barrels -- keeping the barrel that semi-matched the frame with the frame. (In other words, someone just swapped slides.)

Then the original owners would have had two cosmetically "interesting" guns, one (or both) of which got sold.

I've seen owners of the Taurus PT92 take a black model and a silver model and interchange parts. Sort of a Barbie doll mix and match. At least, that's my $ 0.02.

Now don't try and steal the paper towel and mailer display for your classified add!;) Actually the white paper towel was the only thing that made the color differences stand out on my cell phone camera.

I finally got to speak with someone at Beretta. The rep said it came as pictured, that it was part of a special made order for the distributor AcuSport.
