I've been a diehard NYR fan forever (lived in NJ for 40 years) and gave up on the NHL after this last lockout. Money is too tight right now, the last thing I'm gonna use it on is supporting this league.

 

I'm sick of greedy athletes and team owners.

I'll watch a few games I guess but I'm not psyched like I usually am in early October.

They should give center ice free. I have had it ever since I have had Directv.

They still get paid to play a kids game, and dont tell me its not a kids game.

Professional athletes are insanely overpaid, its shameful. ALmost as shameful as the amount of money colleges and universities get paid nowdays for TV contracts, bowl/tournament appearances, etc. All with "employees" that get next to nothing.

 

meh....they have a unique talent that people are willing to pay to see. If you had the opportunity (and drive, talent, dedication) to get paid to play a game, you would.

 

Yeah money money money blah blah blah.... its still awesome to see a player get half of his teeth knocked through his face, have the wounds sewn up during intermission and be back out there playing for the next period.

I will say hockey players take a beating and keep on going (Most of them, just don't hit Sid the Kid he's too fragile)

 

Im not saying they shouldnt be well paid, but athletes in general are overpaid. Should players like ARoid be making more for one nights work than I make in one or two years salary?
